Foundations
Our site investigations consider the soil and rock conditions underlying the sites as well as the proposed development and the structural loads to assess the most appropriate foundation options and likely bearing resistances for both conventional and piled foundations.
We have experience providing advice for development where sites may be impacted by solution features, cambering or are underlain by soft soils which may be subject to settlement.

Slope Stability Analysis
Onyx Geo can assess the potential for slope instability for both natural and constructed slopes. The analysis will call upon field observations, site investigation and computational analysis to assess the stability as well as provide guidance on potential mitigation measures.
Infiltration and Soakage Potential
The need for assessment of suitable Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) due to the effects of climate change is becoming more urgent. We have extensive experience undertaking BRE DG365 infiltration testing for conventional soakaway design as well as small scale testing for permeable paving and installation and testing of deep borehole soakaways and liasing with local authorities to find a suitable solution for all stakeholders.

Pavement Design
Our team has experience working on highway improvement projects ranging from small residential roads to National Highways. Onyx can provide both laboratory and insitu testing characterise the subgrade material and the suitable California Bearing Ratio (CBR) to aid pavement/road design. We can provide insitu verification testing of placed subbase to confirm adequate compaction has been achieved.
